Love, which has both joyful and painful ambivalent attributes, has been a pervasive throughout human history and is also narrated in Jusaengjeon of the Joseon Dynasty. Therefore, this study looks at the love of Jusaeng, Baedo, and Seonwha as romantic love and examines the reason why their love was deconstructed and the salvation of love. Jusaeng, Baedo, and Seonwha formed a love triangle and they eventually fell into tragedy. Their love had been intense since their encounters and had the inherent attributes of romantic love. But they became unhappy due to the lie and deception of Jusaeng. The anger and jealousy of the two women left their egos absent. And the conditional love with different orientations deconstructed their love. Therefore, in order to overcome the loss motif that occupies Jusaengjeon, this study discusses that the salvation of love must be achieved with forgiveness and kindness.

사람들은 달콤하고 황홀한 사랑, 이것을 낭만적 사랑이라고 이름하여 영원히 그 사랑 속에 머물고 싶어한다. 이것은 신화처럼 우리의 무의식에 자리잡고 있다. 기쁘면서도 고통스러운 양가적인 속성을 가진 사랑은 인간의 역사 이래로 화두였고 조선 시대 ｢주생전｣에도 서사되고 있다. 따라서 본고는 주생, 배도, 선화의 사랑을 낭만적 사랑으로 바라보고 이들의 사랑이 해체된 이유와 사랑의 구원을 살펴보았다. 주생과 배도, 선화는 삼각관계를 형성하여 결국은 비극에 빠지게 된다. 이들의 사랑은 만남부터 강렬했고 낭만적 사랑이 갖는 속성들을 내재하고 있다. 그러나 이들은 주생의 거짓과 기만으로 불행해졌다. 두 여인의 분노와 질투는 그들의 자아를 부재하게 했고, 지향점이 다른 조건부 사랑은 이들의 사랑을 해체시켰다. 또한 ｢주생전｣은 사회적 장벽과 전쟁과 같은 세계의 불합리한 횡포에 항거할 수 없는 인간의 사랑은 얼마나 가볍고 연약한지를 보여주었다. 따라서 본고는 ｢주생전｣을 차지하고 있는 상실 모티프를 극복하기 위해서는 용서하고 환대함으로 사랑의 구원을 이루어야 한다고 논의하였다.
