The research purpose of “The Meaning of Sin, Desire, and Enlightenment in Guunmon” is to find out the meaning of Sungjin’s realization of desire while looking at the two worlds of Sungjin and Yangsoyu in an integrated way. This is a task that deepens the work theory of Guunmong, and is part of the centripetal development towards the central area of literature. Chapter II revealed the sins of Sungjin and discussed that reincarnation into the human world is inevitable. Chapter III examined the process of returning Sungjin’s desire to Yangsoyu’s dream world. In the process, Yangsoyu discussed returning to reality through the overthrow of the feeling of remorse rather than focusing on the continuation of desire, and talked about remorse as an opportunity for a new lead in life change. Chapter IV looked at the fact that the pre- and post-descriptions of Guunmong are rhyming couplets, and sawed that Sungjin had no choice but to break his dream and return to reality. After waking up from the dream, Sungjin realized the problem of his awareness and was able to move on to a more sublimated path.

“『구운몽』에 나타난 죄(罪)와 욕망, 깨달음의 의미”의 연구목적은 성진과 양 소유의 두 세계를 통합적으로 바라보면서 성진이 욕망을 깨닫는 의미가 무엇인 지를 찾는 것이다. 이는 『구운몽』의 작품론을 심화하는 작업으로서 문학의 중심 영역을 향한 구심론적 전개의 일환이다. II장에서는 성진의 죄를 밝히고 인간세상으로의 윤회가 불가피한 것임을 논의하였다. III장에서는 성진의 욕망이 양소유의 꿈의 세계로 환원되는 과정을 살폈다. 이 과정에서 양소유는 욕망의 지속에 뜻을 두지 아니하고 회한이라는 감정의 전복을 통해 다시 현실로 돌아 오는 것을 논의하고 회한이 삶의 전환을 새롭게 이끄는 계기가 됨을 이야기하였다. IV장에서는 『구운몽』의 앞뒤의 서술이 수미상관임을 살펴 성진이 꿈을 깨고 현실로 돌아올 수밖에 없음을 바라보았다. 꿈을 깬 성진은 자신의 인식의 문제를 깨달아 더 승화된 길로 나아갈 수 있었다.
