Karel Capek’s R.U.R. is a science fiction literary work about the future society in which robots work for humans. In the work, not only the development of artificial intelligence robots, but utopian and dystopian views about the future society also appear. The work also reveals the limits of the utopian thought and portrays dystopia through the reproduction of the Frankenstein syndrome and the destruction of mankind. Christian elements that are closely integrated with this sci-fi imagination function in various ways in R.U.R. First, it criticizes the deification of human beings. Second, it suggests the destruction of human beings. Third, it accepts robots that love each other as a living being. The christian elements not only give warnings of human pride and greed due to the development of science and technology but also are integrated with the discussion of modern scientists who accept robots from the perspective of life. Thus, the prediction of the development and major issues of future social science and technology in R.U.R. is recognized as a result based on the integration of the science fiction imagination and religious imagination.
