Pointing out some issues of Neo-liberalism without compassion and empathy, Nussbaum argues the role of literary and artistic imagination in order to make a decent society. Her political philosophy includes justice, love, and political emotion based on the idea of ‘e pluribus unum.’ Simultaneously, she consciously excludes the role of religion. However, dealing with the human emotion of love without religion intrinsically shows limits of academic illustration of a decent society. In addition, her argument on the role of Literature and Arts as an instrument for the renovation of human world tends to limit the value of Literature and Arts for their own sake.
