KIM Hyun-Seung is the poet who very frequently quotes the Bible ascompared to most Korean Christian poets. The poet himself confesses that theBible had a big influence on his works. This study purposes to categorize severalaspects of biblical acceptance in the forms which appeared in the poetry of KIMand organized its characteristics. The biblical acceptance can be categorized into 3cases: first, allusion of words, sentences, cases and events; second, metaphors infigurative expressions of the Bible; and third, usage of the contents of the Biblewith idiomatic words or personal symbols. Using the Bible in the way of allusion,idiomatic words and personal symbols, the poet accepts biblical contents to beimportant poetic images and then shows in-depth cases to the degree that theChristian poet accepts the Bible as usual.
